computer trouble

Hey all. I'm having a weird computer issue and I was hoping somebody might be able to offer some advice.

It's a PC running windows.

Whenever I try to load up NWN the computer shuts down. No messages just "pew, off." It always happens at the exact same point. When I start to enter the list of available servers. I've run virus checks, there were a couple trackers, but they're gone now and there's nothing else there. The computer doesn't seem to be over heated as it has three working fans and it had only been on for five minutes the first time this happened.

This has happened before. We took it to the shop and they did something that fixed it. I don't remember what they did and will see if Dave does when he gets home. In the meantime, any suggestions/ideas would be appreciated.

What's the OS's Version? Vista (God forbid)? Windows 7?

If it's one of those, well, they aren't very good at being compatible...

I have the same problem with Windows 7, I just bypass it by creating a shortcut of the nwmain.exe program usually found in C:\Neverwinter Nights\NWN.

I do have a shortcut on my desktop.

When you click on it does it open up a menu of whether you want to play NWN, use the toolset or otherwise play around with options?

it is no NWN

Minecraft just caused the computer to crash as well.
